In Gedenken an die sich heuer zum 50. Mal jährende israelische Besatzung Palästinas wurde die Kampagne #Occupationis (arabisch: الاحتلال_هو#) auf Englisch und Arabisch ins Leben gerufen, bei der Palästinenserinnen und Palästinenser davon berichten, wie die israelische Besatzung ihr tägliches Leben beeinflusst. Gleichzeitig soll durch die Kampagne sowohl das Durchhaltevermögen als auch die Widerstandskraft - „Sumud“ - der palästinensischen Bevölkerung verdeutlicht werden.
Jede Person, gleich welcher Nationalität, die israelisch
e Besatzung erlebt hat, ist dazu aufgerufen, ihre persönliche Geschichte mittels Video, Foto oder Text zu erzählen und in den sozialen Medien mit den Hashtags #Occupationis oder الاحتلال_هو# zu erzählen.
"Occupation is about denying us our humanity, it is about dehumanizing us, it is about the total controll of our live. I can not visit the city where I was born without a permit from the occupation. I can not visit the city where I've spent major part of my childhood and I've had the best memories: Jerusalem, where I went to school. It's about time that this occupation ends."
